Kokopelli Company History

Kokopelli began in 1985 and was incorporated under the name Phoenix Limited. The name Kokopelli is based on the Hopi petroglyph of the “horned flute player” and is a symbol of fertility, order, and security. Kokopelli models its philosophy on this symbolic figure by providing a wealth of experience, a secure management approach and leadership in the rental market.

In 1998, Kokopelli established the vacation rental portion of the business through a merger with Cyrano’s Property Management. In 2000, Charlie and Diane Goodman merged Residential Property Management, Inc. with Kokopelli, RPM Inc. became the new corporate parent while continuing to do business under the Kokopelli name.

The Goodmans became the sole owners of Kokopelli in 2003. Recently, Kokopelli Property Management revised its name to include Santa Fe Real Estate and Property Management.

In the summer of 2007, Kokopelli acquired both StayTaos and Frontier Property Management.  StayTaos, a boutique property management company, provides vacation rental and long term rental properties to visitors and residents of historic Taos.  Frontier Property Management, one of the largest property management companies in Santa Fe, augmented both the vacation rental and long term property inventory for our company.

Kokopelli provides property management and maintenance for long term single family homes, vacation rentals and commercial management and leasing.  We attract investors with quality homes by providing excellent service and value and attract quality tenants by providing excellent service and quality properties.
